GIA 001 - Best Naked Ever! Featured in this month's Performance Bikes Magazine
The long awaited pictures of Moriwaki's Honda Evo (GIA 001) published in this months Performance Bikes Magazine! Front Page coverage - Best naked ever!! Plus an in depth feature inside.
The GIA 001 feature has been a long time coming, we promised Steve (aka Moriwaki) that we wouldn't reveal too much about his special build until after it had been published. His inspiration was a thought he often pondered with.... If RSC (Race Service Centre - Honda's forerunner of HRC) was to build a bike for Freddie Spencer now, how would it look? And a few years down the line, lot's of blood sweat and tears! The Honda XR1157 Evo is on the road.
When Steve came to GIA we were just setting up, he heard about Gavin leaving Spondon from a mutual friend and knew he was the man for the job. He had previously had a one off chassis built for this project but just wasn't happy with it!...... this guy really is a perfectionist and when he commissioned us to build his Aluminium Big Tube, Duplex Twin Shock Chassis, Gavin knew it would be a real test of his skills and ability to create what the customer wants.
It was a real pleasure working with Steve, he had high expectations but was easily pleased by Gav's attention to detail.... we must have exchanged hundreds of emails and photos and Steve was buzzing with enthusiasm each step of the way. The end result was the frame and swingarm he had dreamed of and he sang our praises to anyone interested in Motorcycle Frame Building (and OSS members) which resulted in lot's more business for GIA. So thanks Steve, it's been a pleasure working with you, we look forward to the next build! :)
There has been no expense spared with this Special Build, Dymag Wheels (16 inch front) YOSHIMURA MIKUNI 40mm TMR MJN SMOOTHBORE FLATSLIDES (Only ones in the UK to best of our knowledge) Motec dash (£2k) Brembo GP-Spec master cyclinders, one off rear shock units (made by Works Performance in California) One off 'Racefit' exhaust system and every fastener is titanium including engine bolts and wheel spindles!
